Douglas Walker, MS is cofounder of A-ha! Performance Solutions, creator of the A-ha! Performance Model, a highly regarded manager and sought after key-note speaker, trainer, executive coach, human capital management consultant, executive career advisor, and leading expert in intrinsic motivation management. He teaches A-ha! at SDSU and UCSD and served as Senior Faculty at the William Glasser Institute and as the Managing Consultant of the San Diego office of DBM, an international leader in transition services.He is also a featured public speaker and has presented for organizations such as Inc. Magazine’s Growing Your Company conferences, the Professional Coaches and Mentors Association, the San Diego Professional Coaching Alliance, San Diego State University, the North County Personnel Association, Qualcomm, the American Electronics Association, and the Society for Human Resource Managers.  
 
Prior to A-ha! Performance, Doug was president of the Center for Accelerated Performance, where he first created and conducted training in the A-ha! Performance model for managers who had been good in their function… then promoted to manager without any appropriate training in managing people.  With a Masters degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Doug served as one of the five original resident faculty members, and is still a senior faculty member, at the William Glasser Institute.  Glasser is a world renowned Psychiatrist and author and an expert on human motivation and behavior improvement.  Doug has an extensive background and network, having taught and presented in Australia, Canada, Japan and throughout the United States.

Douglas Walker Stephen Sorkin, MBA is cofounder of A-ha! Performance Solutions, focusing on business development and marketing, while also developing and delivering A-ha! Performance products and services. He has repeatedly commercialized and developed ideas into globally competing businesses, including award-winning and industry standard setting human capital management solutions.  Steve taught college level entrepreneurship, basing his courses on an entrepreneurship behavioral model Identify Your High® he developed, and is experienced with consistent success leading start-ups, venture marketing, business coaching, mentoring and strategic marketing consulting. 

After earning his MBA in 1995 at the University of Southern California Entrepreneurship program, Stephen started Sorco Enterprises, LLC, and quickly secured investments for launching two products. One of them, BodyGlide, a skin lubricant for athletes, is still an international leader in its market today. He then co-founded Decision Dynamics Companies (DDC), an international leader in human and organizational behavioral assessments and related software, with prestigious clients including Korn Ferry, ARCO, NASA, Eli Lilly, Educational Testing Service, the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Department of Defense, Futurestep, as well as many Fortune 500 companies.  Steve was instrumental in all licensing and joint venture negotiations involving DDC and its intellectual properties. In particular, Mr. Sorkin played a central role in licensing intellectual property that his company used to co-develop a software and database system that helped transform an NYSE company (Korn Ferry International: KFY) from a leader in executive recruiting to a global leader in full service human capital management solutions today. This same IP has helped KFY win the prestigious Enterprise Value Award for 2004 and “CIO Award” by CIO Magazine, IDG Worldwide, and has been published in Harvard Business Review. Steve is also experienced in executive recruiting (in the healthcare information systems industry) and providing venture marketing consulting focused on helping businesses and entrepreneurs get from “A to B”.

 

A-ha! Performance has a team of seasoned professionals who are also experts in the fields of performance management, motivation management and/or performance consulting and coaching. We are continuing to train and certify additional leading practitioners, or independent consultants, within niche markets where there is need for motivation management and performance consulting services.
